FUCK IT!

Thoughts, recollections, musings and reflections.

Ya know, I gotta admit that I don't get out to the Malls and other attractions much anymore and I'm wondering; do they still have those Instant Photo Booths out there?
Here is a classic example with the quarters supplied by George "Pineapple" Makekau and John Conroy circa Feb. 1970 in Atlanta, Georgia.

While out and about in the AO this item could get you a cold Coke or maybe even a cold beer but little else.

How many of you guys remember these plastic crosses with rosary of hand knotted green string? I think the Chaplains were the ones that handed these out as a little morale boost in the fall of '68. They were packaged in a small plastic bag with a printed card saying they were made by children in an orphanage in Wisconsin, I believe. Each one was unique and the crosses came in colors, white, pink, purple. Well, I'm not Catholic nor was I into any organized religion at the time, but that little plastic Jesus, just like my dogtags, never left my possesion to this very day.

Peaches and poundcake?

P-38..... What more can I say?

Nothing but memories from the 60's and 70's

Just about every grunt owned a Zippo lighter while in Nam and they were adorned with a variety of engraved images and text including Psalms 23(Yea tho I walk...), Screaming Eagle, Jump Wings, CIB, and much more. There was a lot of clever, poignant and downright funny stuff on those lighters. Mine had a dancing Snoopy with the words "Fuck It" below. It kinda summed up my situation and sentiments at the time. What was on your Zippo?

Thanks to 3rd platoon grunt Mark "BadRoy" Orr for the animated Snoopy
